Welcome to Our New Member: ETKİM, Türkiye’s National EdTech Incubation and Innovation Centre

We are pleased to welcome ETKİM - Educational Technologies Incubation and Innovation Center as the newest member of the European EdTech Alliance.

Established by the Turkish Ministry of National Education and based at the Middle East Technical University (METU) Teknokent campus, ETKİM is a national centre of excellence focused on evidence-based digital education. Its mission is to ensure that digital education investments lead to meaningful learning outcomes through pilot testing, impact measurement, and data-driven guidance.

Since its foundation in 2023, ETKİM has:

  • Supported over 60 EdTech entrepreneurs and more than 150 R&D professionals through its incubation spaces.

  • Developed Türkiye’s Professional Learning Laboratory, which enables educators and developers to co-design and evaluate learning technologies.

  • Engaged with over 1,200 EdTech companies across the country to build a vibrant national EdTech ecosystem.

As part of its international outreach, ETKİM has actively sought collaboration with leading EdTech ecosystems, including a recent study visit to EdTech Denmark. The organisation is also exploring certification pathways in cooperation with EduEvidence, and is developing a national EdTech cluster model. In June 2025, ETKİM hosted the Türkiye Educational Technologies Summit (TETZ 2025) in İstanbul, bringing together global voices in EdTech innovation.

We look forward to supporting ETKİM’s journey and connecting their work with our growing pan-European community.
