  • Beth Havinga

    Managing Director

    ​Originally a high school teacher from Australia, Beth Havinga has managed education publishing houses and education software companies in Europe, founded her own EdTech startups in Germany and the USA, and, for the last six years, has supported a wide variety of education organisations through her company, Connect EdTech. Beth works with large tech corporations, education publishers, governments, ministries of education and education startups globally, supporting them in education policy, digital implementation strategies, market analyses, and the internationalisation and expansion of digital products. She currently serves on the practical advisory board of Kids.digilab.Berlin.

    As a specialist in the digitisation and interoperability of education systems, Beth currently serves on the Digitisation Council of the state of Berlin in Germany, is chair of the advisory board of Kids.Digilab.Berlin, and also represents Germany as head delegate to the European Committee for Standardization of Interoperability for Learning Technologies and EdTech. Additionally, Beth is part of the EdTech Roundtable of the European Commission, represents the EEA as part of UNESCO’s Broadband Commission, and is part of the COSN international advisory board.

    Beth has previously served on the expert committee of the Austrian Ministry of Economy, Research and Science, and was an invited member of the expert Platform, "Digital Future: Learning. Researching. Knowledge" of the German Digital Summit under the Chairmanship of the German Education Minister.

    As a cofounder of the European Edtech Alliance, Beth is excited about making the digital education landscape within Europe more accessible, interconnected and open for innovation.

  • Damian Bartsch Cornelsen

    Education Team Lead

    As an enthusiast for contributing to people’s development, combined with strategical transformation, Damian is a former secondary school teacher, moved by the passion of providing equal and efficient learning opportunities for everyone.

    His early interest in working with people and their educational progress has been reinforced throughout his studies with completion of a Master’s degree of Education, focused on the subjects English, Sports and Educational Science.

    His professional experiences include working at the KiTa Zweckverband in Essen, managing and further developing the project "mobile KiTa", mediating limited resources available across organisations ensuring the development of the program and personnel involved. Additionally, having worked in the public educational sector, has been an extra motivation to get highly involved in innovation and the implementation of alternative learning approaches. His research studies deepened in the "Flipped Classroom" model in schools based on embedding digital tools and software into the learning process.

    At the European Edtech Alliance, Damian contributes to managing, organising and communicating within the europe-wide EdTech network.

  • Antonia Clary

    Antonia has a background in international public policy specialising in youth and education policy. Her diverse experience includes roles at the United Nations, the government of Austria, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development, and a foundation dedicated to encouraging STEM education among girls and young women.
    In her capacity as Project Developer at the MINTality foundation, Antonia gained invaluable insights into the potential of educational technology tools by promoting an evidence-informed educational online game among Austrian teachers and facilitating meaningful collaborations with other stakeholders.

    In addition to her Master's degrees in Public Administration and International Development, Antonia is a certified teacher of German as a foreign language. She has undertaken teaching assignments at both primary and secondary school level in Austria, Hungary, France, and Uruguay, showcasing her versatility and commitment to education across diverse cultural settings.
    Antonia possesses strong research and writing skills. Throughout her career, she has consistently undertaken desk research and qualitative interviews, designed quantitative studies within the youth and education sectors, and excelled in communicating complex issues to different target groups.

    At the European EdTech Alliance, Antonia is coordinating the Alliance's research activities and report drafting.
