EdTech Strategy Lab:

Evidence-informed evaluation mechanisms

We are honoured to kick-off a new project with the Jacobs Foundation on evidence-informed evaluation mechanisms through hosting a series of knowledge exchange formats to connect all key stakeholders.

The goals of the project include:

  • Defining a unified, evidence-informed, minimum or base standard of Quality Assurance practices for EdTech solutions, which can be implemented in all countries and regions.

  • Supporting the interoperability of existing and developing Quality Assurance Mechanisms and certification practices in EdTech.

  • Leading policy and decision makers to understand and use quality assurance and evidence-based mechanisms and practices in EdTech.

The EdTech Strategy Lab event series will feature a series of online and in-person discussions, collaboration opportunities and outcome-focused formats.

The first EdTech Strategy Lab events will culminate in a Strategy Symposium in September 2024 focused on advancing evidence-informed evaluation mechanisms.

With the support of our partners, the EdTech Strategy Lab aspires to:

  • Identify best-practice formats for knowledge and exchange structures around the topics of quality assurance mechanisms

  • Key resources, practical guidelines, and engagement formats will be piloted

  • Develop methods for anchoring quality assurance mechanisms and evidence-based decision making in design, funding, and procurement processes,

  • Test approaches for supporting existing and developing testing environments to include a component of quality assurance and evidence-orientated exchange involving all key stakeholder groups

  • Understand the possibility of a common, base-line criteria framework to improve evaluation and certification implementation, informed decision-making practices, and support building trust across multiple markets.

  • Facilitate connections between testing environments to create more holistic learning opportunities following a testing ecosystem approach

  • Strategy Lab event formats - including listening sessions, online events, in person events and deeper dives - will culminate in an in-person Symposium in September 2024, with more details to be announced soon.
