The European EdTech Alliance (EEA) collaborates with leading philanthropic foundations to explore critical questions at the intersection of education, technology, and public good. These partnerships allow us to pursue independent, impact-driven research and action that complements our policy engagement and ecosystem-building efforts. This work enables us to convene diverse stakeholders, test bold ideas, and publish open-access insights for the broader field.

EdTech Funding Database
2025
With the support of the Jacobs Foundation, we are developing a funding database for EdTech companies. This searchable and filterable database will offer a continuously updated, searchable overview of national and international funding opportunities relevant to EdTech in Europe—supporting startups and ecosystem actors in identifying, tracking, and accessing financial resources for innovation and growth.
This tool will serve as both a data platform and a collaboration enabler—matching EdTech organisations with aligned funding streams, surfacing relevant policies, and building a shared infrastructure of knowledge across Europe.
EdTech Policy Lab
2025-2026
The EdTech Policy Lab is a project of the Forum Bildung Digitalisierung (Forum for Digital Education) together with the non-profit European Edtech Alliance (EEA), the Bertelsmann Stiftung (BS), the Robert Bosch Stiftung (RBS), the Vodafone Stiftung Deutschland (VS), and the Heraeus Bildungsstiftung (HBS). This project brings together public sector actors, EdTech innovators, civil society, and funders to build structured, trust-based cooperation in digital education. Addressing systemic fragmentation between administration, policy, and technology, the project develops and tests scalable collaboration models grounded in evidence, mutual understanding, and shared goals.
Through workshops, listening sessions, and co-created tools—including a playbook and policy-facing blueprints—the project aims to foster sustainable partnerships and enable public administrations to actively shape and steer innovation in education. It builds on the success of the EdTech Strategy Lab and focuses on translating insights into actionable, scalable formats for long-term change.
The EdTech Strategy Lab Project
2024
Generously supported by the Jacobs Foundation in 2024, the EdTech Strategy Lab is a philanthropy-supported initiative led by the European EdTech Alliance to advance evidence-based evaluation, trust-building, and interoperability in the European EdTech ecosystem.
Through a series of deep-dive reports, interactive workshops, and expert convenings, the project brings together startups, researchers, funders, and policymakers to identify barriers and co-create scalable solutions. The Strategy Lab serves as a neutral space for knowledge exchange and capacity-building—supporting a more transparent, effective, and aligned approach to EdTech development and adoption.
